Herringbone Click Engineered Wood Flooring

Herringbone click engineered wood flooring is real French oak laid in a classic zigzag pattern. Each block has a real oak top layer on a stable fibreboard core and clicks into place, which makes a herringbone floor much simpler to fit than traditional parquet.

Our Parkwood herringbone, made by BerryAlloc, comes in three colours: Albatre, a pale white oak with a slight pink tinge; Nude, a very light beige with the look of unfinished oak; and Nature, with warm natural tones and a traditional grain. Samples are £1 each, with up to four per order, and arrive in 1 to 2 working days.

Why choose herringbone

Herringbone adds pattern and movement to a room while keeping to a single colour of oak. It works well in hallways, where the pattern leads the eye along the space, and in living and dining rooms in both period and modern homes. Albatre and Nude keep the pattern soft and light. Nature gives a more traditional parquet look.

Block size and coverage

Each block is 504mm long, 84mm wide and 9.5mm thick. A pack holds 40 blocks and covers 1.69m². Herringbone needs more cutting at the edges of a room than straight boards, so allow around 10 to 15% extra for cuts and waste.

Fitting

The blocks click together and float over a suitable underlay on a flat, level subfloor. Herringbone needs careful setting out from the centre of the room, so we recommend a professional fitter.

Underfloor heating and warranty

Parkwood herringbone works with water and electric underfloor heating up to 27°C and comes with a 20 year residential warranty.
