What is entrance matting?

Entrance matting is specialist flooring placed at building entrances to remove dirt, grit and moisture from shoes before it reaches interior floors. It improves safety, protects finishes and dramatically reduces cleaning time.

What is the best entrance mat for heavy foot traffic?

For high-footfall entrances, choose a heavy-duty specification such as Hobnail Heavy Duty, Ribbed Heavy Duty or Herringbone Heavy Duty. These are built with dense pile and reinforced backing for commercial use.

Is coir matting suitable for outside?

Coir is best used in a sheltered position such as a covered porch or inside a door well. Prolonged exposure to rain will shorten its life, so for fully exposed outdoor use a rubber-backed heavy-duty mat is a better choice.

Can I machine wash a door mat?

Yes. Our Washable Door Mats are designed to go in a domestic washing machine, making them ideal for pet owners and muddy family homes.

How do I measure for entrance matting?

Measure the width and length of your door well or the area you want covered, then check the depth so your chosen mat thickness sits flush with the surrounding floor.
