Is marble effect vinyl flooring waterproof?

Yes. Sheet vinyl is fully waterproof, and because it is laid in one piece there are few or no seams for water to get through. It is a practical choice for bathrooms and kitchens.

What is the difference between marble effect sheet vinyl and marble LVT?

Sheet vinyl comes on a roll and is laid as one continuous piece, which is quicker to fit and usually lower in cost. Marble LVT comes as individual tiles with a thicker, more rigid build. Both are waterproof.

What widths does marble effect sheet vinyl come in?

Most designs are available in 2m, 3m and 4m widths. Choose the width that covers your room in one piece and order the length you need.

Should I choose a felt or cushion backing?

Cushion backed vinyl feels softer and warmer underfoot. Felt backed vinyl is firmer and more stable, and it is often easier to fit. Both are waterproof.

Can marble effect vinyl go over underfloor heating?

Yes. All of our marble effect sheet vinyl is suitable for underfloor heating. Follow the manufacturer guidance on maximum floor temperature.

Marble Effect Sheet Vinyl

Marble effect sheet vinyl gives you the look of polished marble in a floor that is warm, soft underfoot and fully waterproof. It comes on a roll in widths of up to 4m, so most kitchens, bathrooms and hallways can be covered in one piece with no joins for water to get into. Our marble effect vinyl flooring includes classic white and black marble, cool greys and soft beiges, from the Ajax, Apollo and Juno ranges. Samples are £1 each, with up to four per order, and arrive in 1 to 2 working days.

What is marble effect sheet vinyl?

Sheet vinyl, often called lino, is a flexible vinyl floor supplied on a roll. A printed marble design sits under a clear wear layer, with a cushion or felt backing underneath for comfort and warmth. Because it is laid as one continuous piece, it is quicker to fit than tiles and there are no grout lines to clean. If you would prefer a marble floor in individual tiles, see our marble effect LVT.

Choosing a marble colour

White and black marble: Apollo Georgian Marble and Verona Marble, and Juno Regal Marble, have crisp white grounds with dark veining for a classic look.
Grey marble: Ajax Grey Marble and Juno Burnt Marble suit modern kitchens and bathrooms with white or grey units.
Light and beige marble: Ajax Light Marble and Juno Marbello are softer and keep a small room bright.

For a speckled stone look, see our terrazzo sheet vinyl.

Backing, thickness and warranty

The backing affects how the floor feels underfoot.

Cushion backed: Ajax (2.8mm) and Apollo (2.4mm) have a cushioned backing that feels soft and warm.
Felt backed: Juno (2mm) has a felt backing that is firm and stable, and it is often the easier choice for fitting.

Wear layers range from 0.2mm to 0.35mm. Warranties run from 7 years on Ajax to 15 years on Apollo.

Where to use marble effect vinyl

Every design in this range is waterproof, so it suits bathrooms, en suites, kitchens, utility rooms and downstairs toilets. It is also pet friendly and suitable for underfloor heating. A wide roll means fewer seams, which is what keeps water out in a bathroom.

Widths and ordering

Choose a width that covers the shortest side of your room in one piece, then order the length you need. Most designs come in 2m, 3m and 4m widths. Allow a little extra on each side for trimming at the walls. Delivery is free across mainland UK. You can browse the full sheet vinyl range here.
