Waterproof Sheet Vinyl

Waterproof lino is sheet vinyl with a sealed vinyl surface that water cannot soak through. Because it comes on a roll and is laid in one piece, a bathroom or kitchen can be covered with few or no seams, which is where water usually gets into a floor. Every sheet vinyl design we sell is waterproof, from wood and herringbone to tile, marble and terrazzo. Samples are £1 each, with up to four per order, and arrive in 1 to 2 working days.

Is lino waterproof?

Yes. The surface of sheet vinyl is fully waterproof, so spills, splashes and wet footprints sit on top and wipe away. The weak points in any floor are the joins and edges. Sheet vinyl has very few joins, and in a bathroom the edges can be sealed with a suitable sealant around the bath, shower and toilet to stop water getting underneath.

Where to use waterproof lino

• Bathrooms and en suites: choose a width that covers the room in one piece so there are no seams.
• Kitchens: spills wipe away and the floor copes with mopping.
• Utility rooms and downstairs toilets: a practical floor for small rooms that see water and muddy boots.

Choosing a waterproof lino

For a bathroom, a cushion backed range such as Ajax, Apollo or Arianna feels warmer underfoot. For a busy kitchen, a felt backed range such as Dasos, with a 0.4mm wear layer, stands up better to appliances and furniture. Most designs come in 2m, 3m and 4m widths.
