Our grey coir entrance matting is a hard-wearing entrance mat made from natural coconut husk fibres, dyed in a contemporary grey to suit modern interiors. It is designed to be your first line of defence against outside dirt while providing a sleek and sophisticated look at your doorway.
Grey coir matting is an increasingly popular choice for entrance door mats in the UK. It offers all the tough, dirt-scraping performance of traditional natural coir but in a colour that complements modern hallways, slate tiles and contemporary front doors. The grey finish is practical too, it hides everyday dirt well between cleans and provides a smart, neutral backdrop for your entrance.
This grey coir matting features a sturdy PVC backing that keeps the mat firmly in place on hard floors and prevents it from curling or shifting underfoot. At 17mm thick, it provides a substantial feel without being too bulky for recessed door wells or mat wells. The matting is easy to cut to the exact size of your entrance using a sharp craft knife, so you get a neat, tailored fit every time.
Grey coir matting works well in a range of settings. It is commonly used in front door entrance halls, porches, conservatory doorways and recessed mat wells. It is also a popular choice for back doors, side entrances and boot rooms. Thanks to its heavy domestic suitability rating, this matting can handle high foot traffic areas without wearing out quickly.
This grey coir matting is available in two roll widths, 1 metre and 2 metres, and is sold by the square metre. Simply enter the amount you need and we will cut it to length from the roll. This means you only pay for the exact amount of matting you require, with no waste.
As a natural product, we can never guarantee 100% uniformity. Slight variations in colour and texture may occur between batches and from season to season with the coconut harvest. These variations are part of the character of a genuinely natural material. This natural coir matting is available in two roll widths, 1 metre and 2 metres, and is sold by the square metre. Simply enter the amount you need and we will cut it to length from the roll. This means you only pay for the exact amount of matting you require, with no waste.
Pieces of coconut husk sometimes appear in the pile, and loose pieces of coconut fibre will shed from the pile at first. If a husk falls out of the pile, this can be simply amended by untwisting surrounding tufts to fill in the hole. This is totally normal with all coconut mats and not a fault.
As coir matting is a 100% natural product it is prone to shedding throughout its lifetime. As such Coir will require regular brushing, particularly in the first 6-8 weeks, to prevent any loose bristles being tracked from the surface of the matting onto the surrounding floors and carpets. (We would recommend brushing about once a week after it has settled).
